Verified Fractional Operator (VFO)
The new standard for operating-level credibility.

Why VFO Exists
Fractional titles are self-assigned.
Operating levels are blurred.
Executives are left to guess who is senior and who is not.
VFO changes that.

It verifies your operating level based on evidence, not self-promotion.
No shortcuts.
No inflated titles.
No pretending.
Just clarity.

Why This Matters to the Market
Founders, boards, recruiters, and PE firms are not worried about titles.
They are worried about risk.

Most founders and recruiters have no reliable way to distinguish between someone who held a title and someone who truly operated at that level.
VFO exists to reduce that risk.

It gives decision-makers a verified signal of:
-
Real operating scope
-
True decision authority
-
Documented outcomes
-
Professional boundaries
When stakes are high, verification matters.
What VFO Verifies
• Your true operating level
• Your scope discipline
• Your decision authority
• How you structure outcomes
• How you communicate with CEOs
• How you protect boundaries
This creates a clear, defensible signal in a market where titles alone mean nothing.

Operating levels
VFO certification is awarded at the level you are qualified for, based on your experience and submitted evidence.

Those levels are as follows:
SPECIALIST
Indicates deep expertise in a specific function or discipline.
Operates independently, delivers defined outcomes, and contributes as a subject matter expert within a broader team or initiative.
LEAD
Indicates responsibility for leading a function, project, or initiative.
Guides execution, manages priorities, and drives results within a defined scope, often coordinating others but not owning the full function at a strategic level.
EXECUTIVE
Indicates ownership of a function at a leadership level (Head/VP equivalent).
Sets direction, manages performance, and is accountable for outcomes within that function, with influence over strategy and team execution.
OFFICER (C-SUITE)
Indicates true C-level operating experience.
Holds executive decision authority, sets company-level direction, and is accountable for business outcomes across functions, typically reporting to the CEO or Board.
If your evidence supports the level, you earn it.
If it doesn’t, you’ll be certified at the level your work supports.
Fair. Clear. Professional.

What Changes After Certification
VFO is not a badge. It is a positioning shift.

After certification, you can:
-
Lead with verified operating level instead of defending your title
-
Remove early-stage buyer hesitation
-
Differentiate from self-appointed “fractional C-suite” competitors
-
Enter conversations where credibility is non-negotiable
-
Command stronger positioning in pricing conversations where scope and authority matter.
For recruiters and boards, VFO becomes a due diligence shortcut.
For you, it becomes a trust accelerator.

VFO is not designed for everyone. It is designed for operators whose work materially impacts revenue, risk, and enterprise value.

Investment
$2,500 USD
Includes:
• Certification process
• Review
• One revision
• Certificate and badge
• One year of IAFP membership
VFO is intentionally rigorous. Approval is not guaranteed.

Investment Perspective
VFO certification is $2,500 for the initial verification process.
Renewal is $500 per year to maintain your certified status and active listing.
Executive-level engagements often range from $5,000 to $25,000+ per month.
IIf verified status protects or secures one executive-level engagement, the return outweighs the investment.

This is not a membership badge.
It is ongoing professional standing.
