Leadership and Governance

Founder

Founder, International Association of Fractional Professionals (IAFP)
Founder, Fractional Referral Network (FRN)

IAFP was created to bring structure, standards, and operating-level clarity to the fractional market. After working with hundreds of fractional professionals across functions, it became clear that titles alone were not enough. Buyers need a reliable signal. Serious operators deserve recognition for experience they have actually earned.

IAFP exists to define that signal.

Our Role

IAFP is a standards body for fractional professionals.

We are not a regulatory authority.
We do not license professionals.
We do not police the industry.

Participation is voluntary.

Our role is to:

  • Define professional and operating-level standards

  • Publish clear certification criteria

  • Review submissions against documented requirements

  • Provide a visible signal when standards are met

Advisory Council

IAFP is founder led and is building an advisory council composed of experienced fractional executives and senior operators.

The Advisory Council provides:

  • Input on standards and level definitions

  • Oversight on certification criteria

  • Guidance on professional conduct expectations

  • Perspective from both operator and buyer viewpoints

Advisory members are selected based on documented executive experience, leadership credibility, and alignment with professional standards.

The council does not manage daily operations. Its role is strategic guidance and standards integrity.

VFO Certification Governance

Verified Fractional Operator (VFO) certification is based on documented operating experience.

Applicants are required to submit evidence supporting:

  • Executive-level scope of responsibility

  • Strategic decision-making authority

  • Organizational impact

  • Governance and leadership experience

Certification decisions are made based on published criteria.

Certification:

  • Can be denied if evidence is insufficient

  • May be awarded at a different level than requested

  • Is time-bound and subject to professional conduct expectations

IAFP does not certify based on self-declared titles.
Evidence is required.

Ethical Standards

IAFP members agree to:

  • Represent credentials accurately

  • Operate in the best interest of clients

  • Uphold professional conduct standards

  • Avoid title inflation or misleading positioning

Membership signals commitment to these standards.
VFO certification signals verified operating-level experience.

Commitment to Transparency

IAFP publishes its standards and processes publicly.

Authority is built through clarity, consistency, and adherence to defined criteria. As the fractional profession matures, IAFP’s role is to support its credibility and integrity.

Standards are not about exclusivity.
They are about clarity.
